Here are some standard conservation recommendations for frozen foods: Up to 40°F (+5°C) = 1 day, 21°F (-6°C) = 3 days, 10°F (-12°C) = 21 days, 0°F (-18°C) and below = several months. Never re-freeze a frozen food that has defrosted. The conservation time of frozen food products varies according to the temperature of the freezer in which they are stored. To safely preserve frozen food products to the end of their Consume-by Dates (printed on the package by the manufacturer) manufacturers and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recommend a storage temperature of 0°F (-18°C) minimum. For more information, consult: www.freezcube.com In the event of a freezer malfunction and the corresponding increase of temperature, food conservation times change. FreezCube is a monitoring device composed of four food-based colored liquids which react in ways similar to those of foods. If freezer problems occur, it could take several hours before the colored liquids in the FreezCube begin to melt. In the event that one or more liquids begin to melt, FreezCube recommends the following conservation times for frozen food products: BLUE = 14 days at temperature of 10°F (-12°C) minimum GREEN = 3 days at temperature of 21°F (-6°C) minimum YELLOW = 1 day at a maximum temperature of 40°F (+5°C) RED = dispose of ALL frozen products immediately. The colored liquids melt in a variable manner as they approach the following temperatures: Blue 14°F (-10°C), Green 21°F (-6°C), Yellow 28°F (-2°C), Red 32°F (0°C). From the moment that the first colored liquid begins to melt, the countdown begins on the length of the conservation time of the frozen foods in your freezer. To calculate the remaining time of conservation, decrease the indicated conservation time by the number of days elapsed since you last verified your FreezCube. For example: Before leaving home, verify that the four liquids are still frozen at the top of the FreezCube . If upon your return after being absent for 2 days you see that one or more liquids have melted (even partially), the following calculation applies: BLUE: 14 days - 2 days of absence = 12 days of remaining conservation, GREEN: 3 days - 2 days of absence = 1 day of remaining conservation, YELLOW: 1 day - 2 days of absence = DISCARD EVERYTHING, RED: DISCARD EVERYTHING It is the responsibility of each individual to closely monitor products destined for consumption. It is imperative to respect the recommendations made by freezer and frozen food product manufacturers, their product consume-by dates and recommended storage temperatures. The recommendations made by FreezCube must be considered only as an indication of minimum precaution. FreezCube, Playcube s.a.r.l, and Playcube Products, LLC can not be held liable for any reason.
